• Start at 9 and wipe down all walls and surfaces, use a long-handled brush to get to the ceilings.

1100-1200 Bedrooms

• Children’s bedrooms remove all old and damaged clothing
• Go through the cupboards and take out broken toys, put them in the rubbish
• Remove redundant toys to a box for the charity shop.

1200-1300 Adult Bedrooms

• Go through wardrobes and remove redundant clothing, put in the charity bin.
• Any books that are falling apart recycle.

1300-1400 Kitchen

• Back to the kitchen, and while having lunch take everything out of the fridge and thoroughly clean it.
• Empty the Freezer and check use-by dates of products.

• Remove any cracked or chipped glassware.

1400-1500 Linen Cupboard

• Audit your linen closet and remove any really old linen
• Change linen liners ( usually slightly perfumed) require changing annually
• Make a list of linen purchases for the year.
• Vacuum cupboard and restack shelves.

1500-1600

• Carpet cleaners will arrive and do the carpet cleaning
• Once this is completed, leave the house for one hour while the carpets dry
• Check window cleaning on the outside to ensure that it has been properly completed.

• Drive to the Dry Cleaners to collect the curtains
• Get someone to help you put the curtains up again.
• Curtain cleaning should be thorough, and once they are hanging up again any creases should fall away over the next hour.

Walkthrough your lovely clean house to see if you have missed anything. If you have the energy to do everything in one day, it is much more satisfying than having it drag on.

If you notice anything important has been missed, make a note of it, as we have only really done the house. Soon it will be time to give the grounds/ garden a good going over and work on new plantings required and to get rid of old dying plants. ( That can wait another week).
